Active Directory Engineer

 

  • Determine the vision and set direction for tactical and strategic server architecture for the client’s Enterprise Active Directory infrastructure.
  • Plan, design, install, document and administrate sever applications and hardware
  • Primary technical troubleshooter on complex server hardware and application issues
  • Liaison with 3rd party disaster recovery solution providers for AD recovery
  • Support central and remote server performance and availability
  • Maintain server security architecture and access control
  • Develop and maintain documentation of enterprise server topology and system configurations
  • Execute server maintenance (e.g. system log, backup schedules, user accounts, etc.).
  • Support end users as required to provide a positive user experience.
  • Coordinate testing, rollout, and application of ongoing software patches/upgrades for servers and desktop systems
  • Collaborate with staff located at  remote facilities to help ensure consistency in technical deployment and continuity of service for off-site based technologies
  • Identify ongoing cost optimization, performance enhancement and growth strategies
  • Assist in budget preparation, cost analysis and long-range planning including proactively assessing server infrastructure needs and providing recommendations

Experience:

  • Experience in an Enterprise technical System Administration role focusing on Microsoft Active Directory and identity management solutions
  • Direct experience designing, deploying, and maintaining a highly available AD server environment
  • Experience designing cluster and load balanced server environments
  • Experience working with a managed services technology provider. 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
