Associate Director IS Startegy & Planning

Job Description:

The person in this position will provide critical thinking and thought leadership in the shaping of the future direction of the Information Systems organization. They will be responsible for leveraging insights gathered from internal and external perspectives to help deliver the IS Strategic Plan, measure organizational performance, and influence broad IS decisions.  This position is a key role of the IS team responsible for Strategic Planning, Performance Management, External Research and Benchmarking, & Operations. The Associate Director, Strategy and Planning will work closely with senior members of IS and our external research partners to deliver “Strategy as a Service”.

 

Responsibilities Include:

·         Coordinate the planning, communicating and monitoring of the IS Strategic Plan

·         Maintain and articulate the IS Strategic Management Framework

·         Develop and update long-term objectives and strategic goals

·         Identify strategies required to meet objectives

·         Communicate and validate IS objectives and performance with the business and across the IS organization

·         Work with the departments/functions within IS both domestic and international to:

·         Link projects and initiatives to the overall IS Strategic Plan

·         Provide strategic perspective

·         Develop detailed strategies for specific areas

·         Lead organizational change

·         Leverage external research and benchmark data; proactively assess trends and best practices to develop strategies and goals

·         Ability to communicate in a succinct and persuasive manner both orally and written

·         Broad understanding of strategic management processes

·         Understanding of organizational performance management

·         Ability to lead and motivate people across various levels of the organization

·         Self-driven and results oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high quality and organizational advancement

·         Ability to work in an ambiguous environment and comfort around senior management

Qualifications:

·         Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Business

·         Management; Masters degree or MBA preferred

·         10 + years of increasing responsibility in strategy, process or technology oriented areas

·         Experience with strategy development and execution

·         International experience preferred
