Sr. E-Commerce Business Analyst
Position is located in the Chicago area
Position Summary
The Sr eCommerce Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring business objectives of a project are met, while effectively coordinating the full development and support cycles of the project with business sponsors and technical staff. As the lead subject matter expert for their assigned website business segment (B2B, Direct, B2C), they will develop solutions to business and technical objectives for projects or applications.
Position Responsibilities
1. Responsible for requirements gathering, analysis, detailed process flow design, user acceptance testing and rollout of new & modified feature functionality deployed on the E-commerce website applications.
2. Conduct project discovery through the interviewing of key stakeholders’ to flush out business rules, operational specifications and interface specification solutions to resolve identified business issues and/or strategic initiatives.
3. Gather and validate requirements, resulting in detailed business rules, functional requirements and process design.
4. Prepare graphical depictions of use cases (activity diagrams, system context diagrams, sequence diagrams, use case diagrams, wire frames, etc…).
5. Identify system, data and process dependencies for upstream and downstream application data flow.
6. Support the quality assurance testing to ensure that business requirements are being addressed in the test plans.
7. Facilitate the communication and rollout of new feature functionality to the field including Customer Service Centers and eCommerce Specialists.
8. Perform detailed business and systems analysis, impact analysis and risk analysis on various processes within eCommerce.
9. Work closely with user interface web designers to create screen layouts with emphasis on user friendliness, clarity and consistency with applications and standards; assist with developing new standards.
10. Create design specs for business logic, screens and feature functionality that are clear and complete; specs shall be used for development, testing and training.
11. Clearly and concisely communicate business requirements to developers; interact with IT team to clarify and resolve any issues.
12. Perform application testing prior to rollout; handle quality issues with developers and give final approval.
13. Work closely with data architects, developers, test managers, business stakeholders and project managers to achieve project objectives in defined time frames.
14. Take active role in mentoring and review of the work of other EC Business Analysts as needed.

Position Requirements
• Bachelors degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 8 years experience in business systems and/or web application analysis with prior experience in a Retail E-commerce, B2B, B2C, internet direct marketing or E-Procurement environment.
• Must possess strong analytical, interviewing and creative problem solving skills
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment, including all levels of customers
• Ability to communicate with business and technical resources effectively and proactively
• Ability to apply technical constraints of the system environments to overall business applications system design
• Experience with system integration that spans across multiple technical platforms preferred
• Prior experience with Web based application development preferred
• Experience with backend Order Processing, Merchandising Content Management, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and/or Marketing Campaign Management systems
• Previous experience working within a SDLC environment and general PMO framework
• Experience with any of the following internal systems: ATG, Mainframe, Race, SAP, RDS, POD, CatBox, Clarify, Epiphany and/or WebMethods
