CPA Financial Accountant – Chicago West Suburbs

This is a full-time opportunity that requires a local candidate and permanent residency or U. S. Citizen visa status. A CPA is required, and SEC reporting experience is a “nice to have”. Ideal candidate would be someone coming out of public accounting with 2 – 7 years of experience but experience in a large publicly held corporate finance/accounting area or combination of both will also work. I am looking for someone who wants to grow into a SEC reporting financial accountant and can evolve into a lead SEC accountant in the near future.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a publicly traded company as a Financial Accountant at my client’s corporate headquarters. The successful candidate will report to the Financial Reporting Manager and will assist primarily in the preparation of the company’s SEC filings, including its Annual Report on Form 10-K, Quarterly Reports on Form 10-Q and Current Reports on Form 8-K.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings (Forms 10-Q and 10-K).

Responsible for the assistance in the compilation of financial statements, the related footnotes, and various other components of the filings

Assist in the filing of various Form 8-K events.

Prepare audited financial statements and footnotes of certain employee benefit plans.

Work with external auditors as it relates to matters pertaining to external financial reporting.

Assist in Financial Reporting’s compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404.

Perform a variety of ad hoc assignments and projects, some of which may extend beyond the typical responsibilities of Financial Reporting.

Required Experience and Degrees

Bachelors Degree in Accounting

2 to 7 years of experience in public accounting and/or a publicly held company

CPA REQUIRED

Prior SEC experience a plus
