We seek a Director of Software Architecture to align software development with the direction of product and business development. The Director of Software Architecture establishes the strategic direction of Application Design and Development for Information and Systems Technology platform and applications. The application portfolio is built off of the .NET platform so candidate MUST HAVE a deep and strong background with the .NET platform both from an architecture as well as a development perspective. Additional experience with other enterprise tools and platforms such as JAVA will also be beneficial.
This position requires a close working relationship with members of the Senior Management team, various business sponsors and IT Management to ensure that the application architecture used by various development teams coincides with current and future company goals, and can support the anticipated product platform for 18-24 months forward.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Translate executive leadership’s high-level business goals into development and architecture goals for various applications within the portfolio.
- Oversee the definition of development processes and guidelines
- Work with IT management to ensure application development aligns with overall technical strategy
- Oversee the development of core application framework components
- Oversee the development of new software products and platforms
- Investigate new and emerging technologies and their applicability to the environment
- Oversee the software architecture group as an in-house consultancy
- Oversee strategic planning, budget development and management, contract compliance and any necessary integration of government regulatory requirements.
Management duties include hiring, training, coaching, counseling and evaluating performance of direct reports.
