SQL Server DBA
Location: Chicago, IL
I have a client that is located in the Chicago land area that is searching for a permanent SQL Server DBA. The SQL Database Analyst provides technical expertise in the use of database technology and assures the performance of the enterprise’s database environment. This position manages performance, availability, recovery and security to meet the business objectives and service level descriptions through appropriate design, configuration, integration and installation of database management system applications.
- SQL Server 2005 and 2000 Database administration experience
- SQL Server 2005 Upgrade experience
- Windows batch scripting experience
- SQL Server clustering knowledge required
- SQL Server application performance tuning required
- 3 plus years of IT experience

Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all activities related to complex SQL Server database administration
- Configures and upgrades, designs, implements, maintains, performance tunes, and monitors database systems based on internal controls
- Optimizes database access and resources for performance
- Responsible for database backup and recovery
Preferred Degree(s), Skills and Experience:
- Four-year or advanced degree
- Four-plus years database experience
- Oracle, Pervasive SQL, MySQL a plus
