Tax Compliance Manager, NW Suburbs
General Summary:
To manage and supervise the both the domestic and international tax compliance for a global, publicly held corporation. This will include federal and state income, sales/use, personal property and other tax filings of the department.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
• Manage and supervise the preparation of the federal income tax return
• Manage and supervise the preparation of the state income tax returns
• Manage and supervise the preparation of all international income tax returns and filings
• Assist with the preparation and review of the tax provision under FAS 109
• Provide assistance on all tax audits
• Manage, supervise and develop the tax compliance staff
• Manage and supervise the preparation of sales/use tax returns
• Manage the implementation and updating of tax compliance and FAS 109 software
• Manage and supervise the preparation of all other tax department filings
Qualifications:
• BS in Accounting required; MST and CPA preferred
• 10 + years in public and private sector accounting
• Strong computer skills (Excel and Word). People-soft experience as well as experience with Corp Tax compliance products and FAS module a plus
• Very strong verbal and analytical skills. Ability to communicate clearly with department management on highly technical topics
• Able to analyze a range of options and be able to ask questions to narrow down options to a practical choice of action. Must be comfortable with choices that are not just black and white
• Must be a self-starter who is able to learn in a highly technical area. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. May need to work and interact with employees of the various Business Units
