Pre-Sales Engineer

As part of the Enterprise Customer and Market Development team, the Pre-Sales Engineer is a critical component in success of our future sales success. With your deep expertise of the customer challenges and associated solution ecosystem in either of the Transportation, Logistics, Insurance, Utilities, Telecommunications or Government industry vertical you will be regarded as a trusted advisor by both customers and the COMPANY sales team.

Your ability to bridge the gap between the business challenge and the associated technical location enabled solution will be an essential part of this Global role helping to drive deeper COMPANY engagement within the industry.  You will inspire and share your knowledge with the Global sales team to drive the success of COMPANY in the respective vertical.

Responsibilities

  • Understand global industry trends from a variety of data sources and work proactively to develop solutions and associated value based messaging to address key business opportunities in the respective vertical.
  • Work closely with the sales team at a global level to understand client requirements, business challenges, solution ecosystem, use cases for COMPANY products and to define the successful value proposition based sales approach and focus for the vertical.
  • Work with the Product Marketing and Product Management groups to stay up to date on new COMPANY product developments to ensure your vertical’s market requirements are considered in our product roadmap development.
  • Take the Global lead in training the Sales team on value propositions, unique selling points and competitive landscape within your target vertical*
  • Provide consultative solution expertise to the global Sales team at all stages during the sales cycle and actively participate in the development of key opportunities, engaging as required with appropriate partners to deliver required solution.
  • Support the Sales team by driving opportunity qualification, help to shaping commercial and technical offers, support response to RFQ’s and help to develop and deliver high quality customer presentations as the global subject-matter expert and trusted advisor in your selected vertical.
  • Be responsible for developing a strong body of actionable value proposition based content relevant for your selected vertical which can be reused for many business development activities including webinars, case studies, social media programs, website, and events.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of consultative solution selling experience in one or more of these industry verticals: Transportation, Logistics; Insurance; Utilities; Telecommunications or Government.  Experience gained while working in global software companies, system integrators, or relevant consultancies would be an advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of the issues, challenges, work flows, and solution providers within your selected vertical(s).
  • Proven experience working in a team supporting Account Managers with proven ability to motivate, inspire, and support the achievement of goals through a global matrix structured team.
  • You should be results-oriented and always be mindful of the business impact of your work.
  • We are looking with candidates with extremely strong presentation skills with experience engaging and presenting to senior staff within your selected vertical(s).
  • You should be adaptive, a fast learner, and can quickly capture key business challenges.  You will be accomplished at articulating compelling value propositions that will resonate with the audience.
  • It is essential that you understand the broad industry vertical; while understanding the details, you need to be able to convey often complex concepts in simple and convincing ways.
  • You will be a trusted thought leader whose presentations, speeches and written papers leave lasting impressions.
